The Window Coverings Association of Australia Inc (WCAA) is a not-for-profit organisation that represents the window coverings industry and protects consumer interests.
The association is the peak national window coverings body, and is comprised of five state associations.
All aspects of the window coverings industry are catered to by WCAA, including the manufacturing, delivery and installation of curtains, soft and hard blinds, pelmets/valances, swags, sheers, tracks and all other types of window coverings and window coverings accessories.
In order to acquire membership with the association, window coverings manufacturers and retailers must first adhere to a Code of Ethics and Industry Standards.
This instils confidence in the consumer when they purchase window coverings from a WCAA member, as product quality and durability, along with professional service are guaranteed.
WCAA aims to foster a sense of community amongst those involved in the window coverings industry throughout Australia, and provides members with the opportunity to discuss and debate issues relevant to the window coverings industry.
The association provides its members with education and training programs, and discusses relevant industry issues with Government and industry bodies to ensure new Standards and legislation are of benefit to the industry.
WCAA is represented on two Australian Standards Committees, Care Labelling and Furnishing Fabrics, and is affiliated with the Furnishing Industry Association of Australia (FIAA).
In order to ensure its members are well-informed, WCAA produces national bulletins, and its state associations produce individual newsletters.
The association is also responsible for conducting various national and state marketing campaigns that highlight the benefits associated with utilising the window coverings services of WCAA members.
