William Blue Dining, part of William Blue College of Hospitality and Tourism , has won the ‘Best Restaurant in a Training Institute’ 2011 Award, from the Restaurant Catering Awards for Excellence.
William Blue Dining is located onsite at the William Blue College’s North Sydney Campus. The restaurant is manned by students studying hospitality and learning industry standards of excellence in customer service and commercial cookery.
The Hospitality of Management, of William Blue College, has said the award was a testament to the quality and authenticity of training the students have received. Andrew Ugarte, Head of William Blue College, says the William Blue Dining provides students with a valuable opportunity to work in an authentic restaurant.
“We are very pleased to accept the award as best restaurant in a NSW metropolitan training institute, as it recognises the efforts of the college and William Blue Dining; to ensure our learning environments are aligned with industry standards,” says Ugarte.
“The William Blue Dining team continually monitors emerging industry trends and adapts the service style and menu to ensure students have an authentic restaurant environment in which to learn.”
William Blue Dining has consistently demonstrated their excellence in service and has previously won the “Best Restaurant in a Training Institute” award in 2008 and 2004. The restaurant was also voted one of Australia’s favourite restaurants in the 2011 ‘I Love Food’ competition.
“William Blue Dining offers a complete dining experience. This award was won by everyone involved in the day-to-day operation of the restaurant. Congratulations to all the students and teaching staff, and especially our executive head chef, Quinton Herbert,” says Ugarte.
William Blue College of Hospitality and Tourism offers courses, which have been developed in consultation with leading academics and industry bodies, such as the Australian Association of Hotel Schools, Australian Hotels Association and the International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education.
