The Wine Society has announced the appointment of Daryl MacGraw as CEO.
Following his recent tenure at Bluetongue Brewery, where he was CEO, MacGraw joins The Wine Society just as the organisation is implementing its plans to connect with the new generation of wine enthusiasts across Australia.
Based in the new headquarters in Ultimo, MacGraw will be charged with leading The Wine Society into its next phase of development, and leading it through a more economically challenging environment. His role will entail overseeing management of The Wine Society’s operations, as well as pursuing and executing new business opportunities.
“Daryl is a seasoned executive in the FMCG and beverage sectors having held senior management and marketing roles at Lion Nathan, Heineken, Cadbury Schweppes, Colgate Palmolive, and most recently heading up Bluetongue Brewery where he managed the launch of the Bondi Blonde beer brand,” said Robert Whitton, the chairman of The Wine Society.
“With a strong skill set in marketing and business development he will be instrumental in growing membership, expanding and improving the services and benefits available to members, as well as positioning The Wine Society as a leader in wine appreciation services across Australia.”
Commenting on his commencement, MacGraw said, “I’m looking forward to working with the dynamic team at The Wine Society and CBD Cellars. The organisation is widely recognised as a leader in wine appreciation and a supplier of quality wines to both individuals and the corporate sector, and I’m excited about being charged with taking the organisation into its next phase of development, which has already begun with the recent brand refresh.
“Over the next year we will be focused on connecting with the many Australians, of all ages and professions, who have a growing interest and appreciation in wine. We also want to ensure The Wine Society remains a relevant and premium service provider for Australia’s wine-lovers.”
