The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) recently released its Household Expenditure data, which shows that Australia's love affair with eating out is still going strong.
The ABS data for March 2012 shows that restaurants, cafes and caterers has increased by 13.3% from March 2011. The total turnover from April 2011 to March 2012 is reported to be $18.7 billion.
According to a recent media release, CEO of Restaurant and Catering Australia , John Hart, the data shows that Australians "really do love to eat out and value the service that restaurants, cafes and caterers are offering."
New South Wals is reportedly experienced the highest increase in sales with a 30.4% increase from March 2011 to March 2012.
