MEB has plans to launch Australia’s first and original flatbread.
“It’s just one of those products that, if you’re very creative in the kitchen, it will be amazing,” said Jim Saoud, Field and Distribution Manager.
He added: “It’s cut in a size where you can just toast it for simplicity and just head it up, so we thought [Foodservice Australia] would be a great time to show it off to everyone.”
The breads can be used to make both savoury and sweet foods, like flatbread pizza or nutella-covered flatbread with melted marshmallows on top.
MEB considers itself to be the original flatbread company and believes that no other companies have produced such a bread before.
“This is an actual flatbread, but when you talk to some people they believe that the pita breads or souvlaki breads are flatbreads.”
MEB was also aiming to showcase its oregano bread, which is already known well in Melbourne amongst the Middle Eastern community.
MEB has been doing Lebanese bread for more than 40 years. It also produces souvlaki wraps, Turkish breads
