M & J Chickens showcased its new range fully-cooked chicken products at this year’s FoodService Australia show in Melbourne.
“It’s all Australian, and it’s all natural,” said Anthony Wollstein, marketing manager. “We use natural chicken fillets that we shred, we slice and fully cook, and then we pasteurize them and flavour them.”
Wollstein said M & J set their products apart from other competitors on the market through their versatility.
“At the end of the day it’s our versatility that gives us that edge on the competition, but the edge in the market to present a new line of products for clients to keep them moving on to bigger and better things.”
M & J caters to all customers by offering raw chickens, fully-cooked chickens, and other poultry products like turkey and duck.
“We’re pretty much a one-stop chicken shop, and we do it all,” Wollstein said.
One of the newest products featured by M & J Chickens at the Foodservice show was its satay chickens, which are made without using peanuts and has so far received very positive feedback.
"The good thing about the satay chicken products is that it’s allergen-free, and it’s great to have in schools or normal day-to-day businesses.
As you know, people are so careful today with allergens, whether its nut/peanut allergies or glutten-free, and we’re always trying to keep ahead of the competition…by delivering a product that’s safe, healthy but also packs a punch when it comes to flavour,” Wollstein said.
In addition, other poultry products available from the M & J team include a tandoori slice chickens, lemon pepper chickens and cajun chickens.
“The char-grilled chickens are probably our most popular product,” Wollstein said.
M & J also now produces wet dishes, such as beef buttered chicken or Thai green curry.
