HTN Hospitality Employment Solutions recently held heat 7 of the 2011 HTN Apprentice Chef Culinary Competition at the TAFE NSW Northern Sydney Institute - Ryde College, a heat that is always well anticipated as one of the busiest and toughest of the competition.
Twenty five apprentice chefs, from a variety of placements, including two from the Royal Australian Navy, cooked off to a very high standard, all cooking to win that coverted invitation to the Grand Final held in October.
The results for heat 7 of the 2011 HTN Apprentice Chef Culinary Competition were:
1st place: Ngoc Tina Nguyen - Peter Doyle @ the Quay

3rd place: Neil Murphy - A Tavola
Merit: Adam Shaw - The Log Cabin
1st place: Cailla Hall - Vault 146
2nd place: Patrick Hill - The Sebel Parramatta
3rd year: Panayiota Kokinakos - Rydges World Square
Merit: Andrew Wong - Otto Ristorante
1st place: Tom Paskin - The Sebel Resort and Spa
2nd place: Katrina Brack - Royal Australian Navy
3rd place: Michael Hua Rong - Pavillion Restaurant

1st place: Nessiana Pamudji - China Doll
Prizes awarded on the day to the top three in each year included industry items and vouchers from Fraser and Hughes.
The first placed apprentice chefs were invited to compete in the Grand Final to be held in October where each first place will receive $2,500.
Earlier in the competition HTN announced the addition of two major prizes for HTN Apprentices - a Piaggio Scooter thanks to Profiline Cookware and a cruise for two taking the competition prize pool to around $30,000!
