Established in 2005, the Firewood Association of Australia (FIAA) is a not-for-profit association designed to represent the commercial firewood industry in Australia.
The association aims to promote the long term sustainability of the firewood industry, and carries out a range of activities in order to protect, enhance and improve the industry.
Firewood is a sustainable, environmentally friendly alternative, and the association encourages the use of the greenhouse neutral product for heating and cooking purposes.
The association aims to promote its members to heating and cooking industry professionals by highlighting their compliance with the Voluntary Code of Practice for Firewood Suppliers, an official document formed by Government bodies.
It is a membership requirement that individuals comply with this Code of Practice.
Members are represented by the association when issues affecting the firewood industry arise in order to ensure their interests are acknowledged in the best way possible.
The association also provides members of the firewood industry with the opportunity to debate and discuss issues of relevance amongst one another.
Members pride themselves on their ability to provide high quality, dry, correctly measured, environmentally viable firewood products that are perfect for use in the heating and cooking industries, and they aim to distance themselves from those who sell poor quality firewood.
At present, the commercial firewood industry faces an array of political, environmental and commercial challenges, and the FIAA works tirelessly to address these for the benefit of its members.
Membership benefits include:
- Ability to use logo in advertising and documentation
- Business web listing and other promotion through the FIAA website
