Energy Action recently assisted Diamond Power Pty Ltd in securing approval for a $42, 569 Clean Technology grant.
The grant was announced by the Minister for Industry and Innovation, the Hon Greg Combet AM MP on November 14.
A total of 89 new Clean Technology grants were announced on the day, and this brings the number of approved Clean Technology grants to well over one hundred.
The grant will be used to fund a lighting upgrade that is expected to reduce the company’s site-wide carbon emissions intensity by an impressive 15 per cent.
It is estimated that this will result in savings of $165,000 in energy costs each year.
The lighting upgrade will see all metal halide and mercury vapour lamps at the Berkeley Vale site replaced with induction lamps, and T8 fluorescent lamps will be fitted with T5 adapter kits.
The Clean Technology Program provides support to manufacturers looking to invest in energy efficient capital equipment and low emission technologies, processes and products.
Energy Action's Activ8+ team facilitate the company's energy efficiency and sustainability partnership program with many of Australia's best known businesses.
