HHD 2011 will offer a glimpse of some cutting edge developments in hotel room technology, electronics, bathroom fixtures and furnishings at the much anticipated Hotel Room of the Future, sponsored by Philips. This will be a real-sized, fully functional hotel room on the show floor.
Visitors can experience and possibly adopt the Hotel of the Future features in their own hotels. They can speak with the suppliers and learn how the latest developments can assist their businesses.
The tour starts with the latest MyStayManager smartphone technology that allows guests to reserve, check-in and manage their in-room dining and spa requirements via their mobile phone. Developer, Micros Fidelio is launching and demonstrating this hotel mobile technology system at HHD 2011.
Visitors can test out MyStayManager for themselves before entering the Hotel Room of the Future by making a reservation, checking in through an i-pad and booking a complimentary massage at the ‘Micros Spa’ and drink at the ‘Micros Bar’ as part of their Hotel Room of the Future experience.
Once inside the Hotel Room of the Future, guests will be able to control all aspects of room ambience with Suite Control’s Control4 device which controls lighting, aircon, opening and closing of curtains and so forth with the tap of a finger. The convenience of the OneVision IPTV, by essense, allows guest to access hotel information, in-room dining and the entertainment systems.
The Hotel Room of the Future will feature at its centre the AH Beard bed with ergomotion articulating base. Visitors will be able to test the various angles and functions this bed is capable of for themselves.
Other features on display at the Hotel Room of the Future include a kinesis gym fitted to the wall that folds out in minutes to transform the hotel room into a gym and back again.
