Formerly known as the Edwards Tavern, the Smith Hotel is located in the Melbourne suburb of Prahran. The newly renovated has been transformed into an amazing dining and socialising space.
It’s owner Michael Lambie is passionate about food and this venture is a culmination of his passion, knowledge and expertise. Michael worked with Commercial Kitchen Designer, to create a kitchen that would stand the test of time. After considering many brands, Michael chose the Garland Master Series cooking range and the Rational SelfCooking Center from Comcater because the Garland Master Series can be customised to any configuration that the modern chef demands.
The front rail is manufactured from three millimetre thick high grade stainless steel, while the flat grills are constructed of one inch thick plate steel and all appliances have plenty of power to cope with the demands of a busy kitchen.
The Smith is one of the busiest venues in Melbourne at the moment, and looks like staying that way for years to come. This kitchen will still be using this equipment in fifteen to twenty years time so Michael’s investment in the Garland Master Series gives him the peace of mind that the hardware in his kitchen will stand the test of time, and gives him and his kitchen team the ability to produce extraordinary food every day.
