K1 by Geoff Hardy 2006 Chardonnay was awarded the Estate Grown and Produced trophy, while Mudgee’s Abercorn Wines' ‘A Reserve’ 2005 Vintage Port clinched the Chris Killeen trophy for Fortified Wine.
Nine Australian judges, led by Huon Hooke, judged over 1000 entries. The Wine of the Show was sponsored by Dan Murphy’s and the winemaker received an order for 100 dozen of the wine in addition to a perpetual trophy. 17 high quality wines were available for sale at Dan Murphy’s, Alexandria and also available for tasting at the Restaurant 08 Industry Festival, held in Sydney between 11 and 12 August.
