The Australian Woodworking Industry Suppliers Association Limited (AWISA) was formed in 1986 by key suppliers to the Australian woodworking industry.
The association is responsible for organising woodworking industry exhibitions, including the annual AWISA event.
This event features exhibitors involved in the supply of panel processing machinery, hardware, decorative products and solid wood and timber processing machinery, among others.
This exhibition caters to furniture manufacturers, cabinet makers, kitchen manufacturers, door, window and moulding manufacturers, joinery manufacturers, architects, buiders and shop and office fitters.
The woodworking association produces AWISA – The Magazine, a quarterly publication comprised of high quality editorial pieces that address issues of relevance to the woodworking industry.
Furthermore, the publication provides members with the opportunity to advertise their woodworking products.
The magazine is distributed free or charge to a database of over 14,000 individuals involved in the woodworking industry.
Membership is open to Australian woodworking companies, and overseas companies with Australian distributors who are members of AWISA.
At present, AWISA members are involved in the supply of:
- Woodworking machinery
- Cabinet and furniture hardware
- Panel products
- Surface materials
- Portable tools
- Computer software
- Materials handling equipment
The association is affiliated with the Furniture, Cabinet, Joinery Alliance (FCJ), an organisation comprised of industry groups interested in discussing and addressing issues that specifically affect the woodworking industry.
AWISA values high ethical standards, and encourages its members to similarly act in a manner that upholds such standards.
New members are welcome, and those interested in attaining membership with AWISA are encouraged to register their interest.
