Established in 1920, the Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating (AIRAH) caters to the needs of refrigeration, air conditioning and heating industry professionals.
AIRAH is renowned for its expertise and knowledge of the refrigeration, air conditioning and heating industries, and as such is recognised by key government and industry bodies.
AIRAH has developed strong relations with many of these bodies, including:
- The International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR), which it is affiliated with.
- The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
- The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCAus), of which it is a member.
Furthermore, the institution is the official secretariat of the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR).
AIRAH organises and runs various programs and seminars that effectively enhance the skills and individual knowledge of those involved in the design, installation and operation of refrigeration, air conditioning and heating products.
These address a range of industry topics, from HVAC maintenance and energy auditing through to the latest changes to legislation and Australian Standards.
AIRAH produces Ecolibrium, a monthly journal comprised of industry news, case studies on major projects, technical papers, and any other information of relevance to the industry.
Furthermore, the institution produces a range of technical manuals and publications that are designed to assist refrigeration, air conditioning and heating industry professionals on a day-to-day basis.
A range of trade nights, conferences and industry events are organised by AIRAH to provide members and industry representatives with networking opportunities, along with the ability to discuss current industry issues and view the latest refrigeration, air conditioning and heating products.
