The Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Equipment Manufacturers Association of Australia (AREMA) represents companies involved in the manufacture and/or marketing of air conditioning and refrigeration products.
Many of these companies are responsible for producing Australia’s most popular domestic and commercial air conditioning and refrigeration products.
Currently, many association members hold prominent positions on industry groups including Standards Australia and the Australian Refrigeration Council.
AREMA works closely with government bodies responsible for regulating the industry to ensure when new industry standards and legislation are introduced or current ones modified, the needs and interests of members are addressed.
The association has a secretary permanently located in Canberra to ensure close links with these bodies are maintained, and to ensure news of initiatives likely to impact the industry are communicated immediately.
Membership with the association provides a wealth of networking opportunities as members are encouraged to debate and discuss relevant industry issues, and are exposed to a range of air conditioning and refrigeration industry groups.
The association caters to the needs of companies who manufacture a range of air conditioning and refrigeration products, including:
- Unitary equipment
- Central plant equipment
- Cooling towers
- Evaporative coolers and air filters
AREMA places a high level of importance on the manufacture of high quality air conditioning and refrigeration products, and actively supports the development of strategies for Quality Assurance and Best Practice.
The association features a management committee, which is comprised of individuals from major air conditioning and refrigeration companies operating within Australia.
